THE SHOCKLACH
OAK
This
wonderful tree has a girth of 6.5 metres and has been recorded with the
Woodland Trust in their "Ancient Tree Record". How old
do you think it is?
Four
hundred years old? More information will be added as soon as it is
available.
In the
meantime, thank you to the previous and current owners of the land on which the
tree stands for
allowing these photographs to be taken.

The inside of the tree is completely hollow. Generations of children have played inside here.... |
.... but the tree is healthy and continues to put on new growth. |
