QUEEN'S DIAMOND JUBILEE

Shocklach Parish Council is to plant sixty oak trees to mark the Jubilee.

They will be planted, as far as possible, in places where everyone can enjoy them and watch them grow.

Shocklach Primary School has expressed an interest in planting a "Diamond Oak"

or even a "Diamond Copse".

Some will be planted at St Edith's church.

Many will be planted in the hedgerows along the roads leading into Shocklach

(with the owner's permission).

SHOCKLACH  PARISH  COUNCIL  PARISH  MEETING

This is to be held at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday, 24 May, 2012 in Shocklach Primary School and all residents are welcome to attend.

A guest speaker will talk about the benefits of tree-planting and what has been done so far in the area.

It is hoped that each household in Shocklach will plant a tree for the Jubilee.  It doesn't matter how small

the tree but at the end of the year, Shocklach could have 220 more trees than it does now.

Refreshments will be provided.

More details will appear here as they become available.

IT IS HOPED THAT THE BULL INN WILL MARK THE JUBILEE

BY OFFERING A TRADITIONAL LUNCH

More details will appear here as they become available.
