LOVE TRUTH AND PARDON ERROR

Thanks, Voltaire but I probably should have listened to Mark Twain when he said ‘get your facts first and then you can distort them as much as you please’.  Mind you, he also said ‘facts are stubborn things but statistics are more pliable’ and that’s my excuse for not fully understanding how many houses CWAC wanted to build (see Lies, Damned Lies and Statistics, 28 July).  That number has been confirmed as only 20,655 new dwellings between now and 2021, so that should just about accommodate the revised projected population increase of 12,000 over that period.  Shouldn’t it?

I’m taking Mark Twain’s advice when he said ‘always acknowledge a fault; this will throw those in authority off their guard and give you an opportunity to commit more’.  Sorry, ducks.
