Western Rural Round-up- Week Commencing 8th November 2010

 

A couple of fake £20 notes surfaced this week in Farndon. 

The Police do not know where they have come from but please check your change for a silver dotted strip on the rear of the paper.

 

 

 

  

 

Western Rural Round-up- Week Commencing 1st November 2010

 The Police arrested and charged a Blacon man with an offence of handling stolen goods this week. 

He was found in possession of a stolen bike from a burglary in Rowton and appears at Chester Magistrates later this month.

Reports this week of a vehicle, possibly a Fiat Punto, gold in colour, driving around Guilden Sutton dealing drugs. 

Any information please to your local officer Pc Boulton.

 

Last week the Police gave out information regarding an incident of someone inflicting injuries to a horse near Malpas. 

Two further reports have now been received of injuries being caused to horses around Malpas and Farndon 

and the Police are anxious to receive any information as to who is perpetrating these crimes. 

It seems that a knife is being used to injure the horse’s hind quarters.

 

Reports this week of a blue Ford Transit van (no registration unfortunately) going door-to-door in Burwardsley selling fencing. 

One of the occupants found one of the men around the rear of her property and he made an excuse and left hurriedly. 

The Police would like to receive reports of any suspicious incidents please.

 

Sightings please for a white Ford Transit, index number EY 09 XOO. 

This vehicle has been seen in suspicious circumstances along the villages adjoining A 41.

 

Western Rural Round-up- Week Commencing 25th October 2010 

The Police received reports of a horse being injured in a field in Stretton near Malpas this week. 

Apparently cuts had been made to the animal’s hind quarters by a knife and they ask that if anyone sees anything suspicious 

to report it to them please.

 

Halloween and bonfire plans are being actioned by the Police this week. 

They will have extra officers on to cover the critical dates and their focus will be upon anti-social behaviour. 

They will be working in conjunction with their partners to identify illegal bonfires 

and ask that if you spot any bonfires that are being assembled, please report them to the Local Authority.

 

Sightings please for a Landrover index number M 597 TUK. 

The occupants of this vehicle were stop checked near Tushingham after reports of them acting suspiciously around farm buildings. 

The occupants were checked out by officers and sent on their way.

 

J 636 MDP is a Silver Rover 216 and the Police would like to know about any sightings of this vehicle please. 

The vehicle was seen in suspicious circumstances in Eccleston.

 

Sightings for a Black Vauxhall Corsa (no registration number unfortunately).

This vehicle’s occupants stole cash from a male in Broxton this week and were possibly involved in another incident of theft at Caldy Valley.

 

Cold Callers this week in Tarvin are being very persistent trying to sell insulation. 

The Police receive lots of these calls and, in relation to insulation, there can be Government grants available.  However, if you are not happy with the sales tactics, please inform Trading Standards.

 

Speed enforcement took place this week in Backford and Mollington. 

Four drivers were prosecuted for speeding and two others for illegal mobile phone use.

 

 Western Rural Round-up- Week Commencing 18th October 2010

 Sightings please for a Ford Transit van with orange lifting gear on the back index number K 914 CTH. 

The Police had several reports from concerned locals in Tattenhall about this vehicle calling door to door asking for scrap metal.

 

A resident in Great Barrow reported a prowler near to her house. 

The youth, who was around 14 years old and was wearing a dark tracksuit, ran off when challenged by the resident 

after he had been see in her garden.

 

Reports of youths placing rope across the road in Hockenhull Avenue Tarvin. 

Not only is this extremely dangerous but it’s also an arrestable offence carrying a heavy penalty. 

Four youths were responsible, all of whom were on pedal cycles.

 

The Police have received reports of house boats being targeted for thefts recently in the Waverton and Christleton areas. 

Several boats have had items stolen of late and the Police ask that any 

suspicious characters who you may see around the tow paths be reported to them.

 

A house which was under renovation was broken into this week in Hampton

It was possibly men looking for scrap etc as they stole copper piping and radiators.

 

Sightings please for a vehicle seen in Waverton driving erratically. 

The vehicle is a Blue Ford Mondeo, index number YB02 JXN and originates from Ellesmere Port.

Some thefts occurred in Mollington this week from garden sheds. 

A couple of bikes were taken and some tools.  We did stop-check a well-known youth this week in the area 

but he did not have any items on his person. 

The Police believe that travelling criminals will be committing these offences so please be vigilant.
