Hello, I think my ancestors might have originated in Shocklach Parish. My ancestor, Richard Shockley, apparently left Shocklach and settled in Snowhill, Maryland sometime in the 1660's. Just wondered I might have any common ancestors with anyone here. Thanks!

Some of my ancestors were born and lived in Shocklach, namely Emma Griffiths, c1813, who married Job Dawson, c1811 and her father Thomas and her siblings were born there. Thomas was a blacksmith. Are there any Griffiths out there now reading this who would like to get in touch? Please do.

I grew up in Shocklach and the longer I'm away the more fondly I think of it. Some old faces have gone and some great old trees as well, but a humble beauty and sense of tranquility still remains.
I was very pleased to find this site - some more photos and a link to Google maps would be nice.
