Jon Cox, of Spurstow and his fiancée, Lindsay Melling, of Shavington, are pleased to announce that they have taken over The Bull at Shocklach. "The aim is to create a relaxing environment that can serve the needs of the local community – a place to meet for drinks, a quick bite on the way home from work, or a celebratory birthday meal with friends and family" says Lindsay. One area of the pub will be available for private hire to accommodate larger parties. Outside, the car park has been resurfaced and a new al fresco patio and garden has been created. Their passion for fresh food will be apparent in the menu which will be created using as much local produce as possible. Essentially though, The Bull will be a pub, not a fancy restaurant, so expect traditional pub food cooked to a high standard rather than haute cuisine. On the bar side, it's real ale that you’ll notice first – with five hand pulls showcasing the best of both local and national real ales. Alongside these will be premium imported beer, a splendid selection of spirits and a fine wine list from Rodney Densem’s of Nantwich. "We would like to build just as good a reputation for our ale as we hope to do for our food" says Jon. The couple also plan to start a pub quiz every Sunday night and are looking for help in organizing this. Please see contact details below if you would be interested.
